He said it was amazing but about 10 days later he had to go back to hospital because of an infection. I'll let Andy take up the story from here...
"The hypnosis helped me a lot BEFORE the operation but as I was leaving the hospital afterwards I was told "you will be in a lot of pain. Do not wait for the pain to kick in! Take regular pain killers"
So I took Co-Codomol for three days and then stopped them. I didn't think the pain was too bad. Seven days later I had to go back because an infection developed. As the doctor was prescribing me anti-bioics he asked, "what pain killers are you taking?"
"I'm not", I replied
"Yeah, but seriously...what exactly are you taking/"
"I'm not. I don't need them and I can't see the point of taking them just for the sake of it. "
"We're not treating you for a ruddy headache", said the nurse. "You need painkillers!!!"
I promised to take some really strong painkillers as soon as I felt the need....I still haven't taken any. That's not to say that I'm not a bit uncomfortable doing certain doing and there are moments of real pain but they are only moments and I can deal with it. Overall I feel really happy most of the time.
If you are in pain I really suggest you talk to Tamsin. I am sure she can help you.
