Hypnotherapy really can help with weight loss*. It is a subject that is really close to my heart. You know that I am super slim Tamsin Cooper the clinical hypnotherapist, and you may even know me from broadcasting on the radio with MKFM, in Milton Keynes, but there are a couple of things you maybe don’t know.
As the world celebrated at the end of the last century I was recently divorced and weighing about twelve and a half stone. As I sat at Hengistbury Head all on my own watching the first sunrise of the new millenium I was living a hermit life just not wanting to be with people. I felt fat and I hated the way that I looked.
One of the things that made me even sadder about the way that I looked was that I had also been a model when I was younger. I was constantly comfort eating things like chips, chocolate, and especially biscuits. I didn’t really eat proper meals at all and I felt rubbish, so I decided I wanted to change things.
There are all sorts of ways that people try to lose weight and although being overweight is bad for your health it is really important that you lose weight at a safe and steady pace. Diet pills are certainly not the answer which can have very dangerous side effects and have even been linked to deaths.
Some people believe that extreme exercise is the way to lose weight and sign up for boot camp like experiences. It is completely true that to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you eat but short lived regimes are not the answer, because you simply put the weight back on later.
You may have heard of people having hospital operations for something called a Surgical Gastric Band. It restricts the capacity of your stomach, so that you eat less and, over time, lose weight. However, it does not stop you eating unhealthy food or make you exercise more. As a result many people put the weight back on in a few short years.
The only way is to make small changes so that you lose weight successfully and keep it off. As a clinical hypnotherapist I can help you change your relationship with food with something completely different… a Virtual Gastric Band. It is not surgery. There is no operation…but using gentle hypnotherapy I will help you decide to eat just a little bit less.
I helped Ruanne from Flitwick, Bedfordshire with my Virtual Gastric Band Hypnotherapy. Ruanne has now lost over 6 stone. She is fitter, slimmer, and a lot happier. On her testimonial video on this website she says, “I was over 20 stone and I was convinced I could never lose weight. I wanted a hospital operation but my father begged me not to…”
On my hypnotherapy testimonials page you will see other videos from people who have all lost weight with hypnotherapy. Paula from Flitwick, Bedfordshire, struggled for years but has now lost weight with my Virtual Gastric Band. She says she feels “happier and healthier.”
Another of my hypnotherapy weight loss videos shows Karen who lost one and a half stone in seven weeks. She says, “I have so much confidence now too. Thank-you.”
It is great to know that using my gentle and relaxing hypnotherapy I am helping so many people. In simple terms this is what I do:
- Give you the determination to succeed.
- Suggest to you that you eat a little less.
- Tell you that your tummy isn’t as big as it once was.
- Encourage you to eat proper healthy meals and not snack.
- Help you decide to take more gentle exercise such as walking.
- Help you make lasting choices about lifestyle change.
Suddenly losing weight sounds remarkably simple doesn’t it? Well, the good news is that it really is that simple. I really can help you lose weight, be healthier, and be happier within yourself.
Every week I help many people make lifestyle changes with hypnotherapy for weight loss and provide all kinds of other treatments which include anxiety, stress, and stopping smoking.
I recently received this email from Ann in Flitwick, near Bedford who I is currently receiving my hypnotherapy weight loss treatment:
“Wanted to update you, especially as you will completely understand my achievement. At the beginning of the process I was an 18-20. I would have said 18 but only because if an 18 didn't fit I refused to try a 20 unless it was a coat. I've already dropped a size, and bought some size 16 jeans. Well, they have become loose and I can now take them off without undoing them. So I took us off to Milton Keynes today with a secret mission; to try a size 14. I inadvertently picked up some stretchy jeans, so yes they fitted, but I'd also picked up a 'normal' denim. They fitted. They only bloody well fitted!
“No, I didn't buy them, that's enough to boost my confidence for now. And what's the point in getting those when I'm so getting slimmer! When I left the changing room the lady did the usual 'any good for you?'. I said no, but so nearly said, well yes actually they were great as I don't EVER remember fitting size 14 jeans but I'm not buying them because I'll be a size 12 soon ;) . I didn't say that, and just whispered to my husband that that was all I wanted to do, just try them.”
If you have tried to lose weight before and failed, or you have put it back on again. You possibly have a low self image as a result of being overweight.
As I explained earlier this is all something I can personally relate to…I am now about 8 stone and have been for many years. I am a professional clinical hypnotherapist and I am a woman who understands all about how being overweight can affect not just your physical health but also your mental health too. If you would like to contact me I can certainly help you.
